Structured learning path rolls out alongside new features that boost digital team velocity

SAN FRANCISCO (February 14, 2023) – Pantheon, the SaaS-based website operations (WebOps) platform for developers, designers and marketers, has launched the Pantheon WebOps Certification Program, a comprehensive curriculum that educates, tests and certifies industry professionals and digital teams on the latest WebOps tools and techniques. The program empowers individuals to enhance their strategic thinking skills, meaningfully contribute to their organization’s website operations strategies, and execute on continuous improvement initiatives that boost efficiency, productivity and the business value delivered through the platform.

The WebOps Certification Program was designed to reinforce the tenets of WebOps and to provide individual users and teams who rely on the platform an opportunity to maximize and master its capabilities.

"Many of us have grown up in the field alongside Pantheon and have known and loved the platform through its different iterations,” said longtime Pantheon user M. Nikki Flores, Technical Project Manager at Lullabot. “As Pantheon engineers continue to innovate and introduce new and emerging features, this certification gives both seasoned and new users an opportunity to demonstrate complete knowledge of the platform and its benefits.”

For developers, earning a WebOps certification validates their proficiency and efficiency in building, optimizing, and maintaining effective websites, bolstering their professional credibility and opening up new career and advancement opportunities. For teams, WebOps certification provides an opportunity to upskill entire groups, who can then deliver exponential value to their organizations through enhanced approaches to web infrastructure management, operational efficiency and team productivity. Becoming certified also signals a commitment to continuous improvement and remaining on the cutting-edge of the latest best practices, a competitive advantage for both individuals and teams.

Kelly Bell, founder and CTO at Gotham City Drupal, enrolled her team in the certification program as both a team-building exercise and an opportunity to gain important skills that can immediately apply to their work.

“We found the Pantheon WebOps Certification Program to be challenging, interesting, rigorous and insightful, and the prep materials provided were especially outstanding,” said Bell. “The process bonded us as a team, and there’s no question each of us gained valuable knowledge we didn’t previously have. It was a great experience and absolutely worthwhile in every way.”

The program has a flexible learning model, allowing individuals and teams to enroll at any time, consume the study guide materials at their own pace, and schedule their exam when they’re ready. The Pantheon team also hosts open office hours to provide support to those preparing for the certification exam.

In addition to the launch of the WebOps Certification Program, Pantheon has also rolled out a suite of customer-inspired enhancements that improve the user experience and help users build with velocity on the platform. These include:

  • The new Pantheon File System, which now provides up to 83% faster backups than previous versions. In addition, the new File System Status Report proactively monitors and warns users when large file counts may begin to cause performance problems.
  • Enterprise-grade WordPress Database support, the latest in a lineup of recent features to benefit WordPress users. Now, data-heavy WordPress sites can use Pantheon without experiencing performance issues or added complexity.
  • Front-End Sites Multidev Cleanup & Deletion, which allows users to maintain a clean, searchable and organized development environment.
  • The improved Domain Management experience, which delivers fast and dependable dashboard performance, no matter how many domains are managed.
  • Improved Front-End Sites Starter Kits, preconfigured with new Preview Site Settings and health checks to quickly build and manage Front-End Sites.

In a commitment to deliver best-in-class technologies, Pantheon also now offers support for PHP 8.3 to ensure future compatibility as other vendors on the market advance their offerings.
