Pantheon Content Publisher helps web, editorial and marketing teams break down siloes and streamlines the content lifecycle directly from Google Docs

SAN FRANCISCO (September 16, 2025) — Pantheon, the leading WebOps platform for developers, designers, and marketers, today announced the public preview release of Pantheon Content Publisher, a web content tool that empowers teams to publish content from Google Docs to a website directly. Content Publisher eliminates broken WYSIWYG and copy/paste version control confusion, enabling organizations to deliver impactful digital content faster. It will launch with a free tier as well as two paid tiers.

More than 1 billion monthly active users leverage Google Docs for tasks like content creation and collaboration, but then each time a change is made, it must be copied into the CMS, creating a slow, error-prone process. Pantheon Content Publisher lets users work where they already are, while supplying an API-first, Google Cloud-based web content workflow between content creation and content delivery.

“Website publishing has been complicated and problematic for years,” said Josh Koenig, co-founder of Pantheon. “Releasing Content Publisher for public preview is a key step toward achieving Pantheon’s vision to unite content, design and code into a single, seamless workflow. We want to make creating and publishing web content easier for everyone, and it’s been exciting to see what is most helpful to web and content teams throughout the early development of the tool.”

Once users enable the Pantheon Content Publisher add-on in their Google Workspace, they can connect Google Docs to websites running on Drupal, WordPress, or Next.js and publish content to their site in less than three minutes. But Content Publisher is not tied to a single technology for content delivery. In addition to turnkey integrations with WordPress, Drupal and Next.js, its API can be used to integrate with any website or app technology to deliver content.

Teams can then publish directly from Google Docs with governance, compliance and accessibility checks already in place. The tool also includes Google Vertex-powered AI, with dynamic content and metadata creation. This ensures SEO boxes are checked and saves the publisher’s time during tight deadlines.

“According to our research, 90% of writers work directly in Google Docs or another platform outside of their CMS. The fact is, getting that content on the web in 2025 is clunky and unreliable. That’s unacceptable. It’s time for content and web teams to cut the copy/paste workflow and start bringing content online in a way that is optimized for the modern web,” said Koenig.
