Making an Impact in the Community, One WordCamp at a Time
Let’s talk about community. We all desire to be part of one. To connect and build relationships with other like-minded individuals who share the same interests, passions, dreams and values. Here at Pantheon, community is everything!
WordCamps provide just that. A place to connect, build and share with other WordPress enthusiasts around the world. While we are honored to sponsor and attend several WordCamps every year, we understand that travel can oftentimes be a costly investment.
Because we believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to attend these community-organized events at least once, we partnered with OpenNews to send seven scholarship participants to this year's WordCamp for Publishers! The OpenNews team ranked and hand selected participants based on the following categories:
Underrepresented racial and ethnic groups
Underrepresented organizations (small newsrooms and organizations without development budgets)
Unique skills, attributes and background
Ability to attend WordCamp for Publishers & deliver a session they would otherwise not be able to do without the scholarship
Amongst those able to attend were Emma Carew-Grovum, Emily Roseman, Jordan Gass-Poore' and Beth Davidz, who all delivered exceptional sessions and workshops (check out their slides below!). We could not be more honored to support WordCamp for Publishers, and those recipients who are able to attend through our sponsorship.
